Now that Club Penguin's 2016 prehistoric party has arrived, we've complied the following walkthrough to help you get the most out of it.

When you first log into Club Penguin, you'll be greeted by Gary the Gadget guy with the following messages.

Greetings! We need to dig up power fragments to make a new UFO power source. But we'll have to time travel to find them! Jump in the Time Trekker in the Dock.

 Click this icon to find optimal digging spots. Good luck and ugga ugga!

After clicking the 'Go There' button, you'll be taken to the dock. Enter the Time Trekker to go to prehistoric Club Penguin.

You can also get to prehistoric Club Penguin using your map.

Now that you've gone through time in the Time Trekker, exit to your right.

Welcome to prehistoric Club Penguin! There's several rooms to explore so, be sure to check those out when you get a chance.

In order to get the most out of the party, you'll want to go to the party interface. You can access this by clicking on the icon with the purple meteorite fragment on the upper right hand corner of your screen. From the party interface you can transform, adopt dino puffles and obtain several free items. Don't forget to check out the 'Operation Crustacean' tab if you haven't completed that yet - this is your last chance.

The free item up for grabs today is the Rock Hard Hat. Click 'Claim' and when the blue screen appear click 'Ok' to add it to your inventory.

Now that you've picked up the Rock Hard Hat, you can transform into a dinosaur. This year you can transform into a Raptor, Stegosaurus, Pteranodon, Triceratops, or T-Rex. Remember - only members can transform.

Don't forget to adopt a dino puffle if you haven't already. Currently, only the triceratops dino puffle is up for adoption.

To help Gary get the alien puffles back into space, you need to collect power fragments. You can do this by playing Dino Dig located in nearly every room at the party. Here is what they look like, this one being at tree place.

Dino dig is similar to the treasure hunt mini game abroad Rockhopper's ship, the Migrator; however, dino dig is only one player. In this game you dig for coins and power fragments. The best way to find a power fragment or coin is to look for sparkly shells in the sand. After finding a power fragment click 'Ok'. The more power fragments you get, the more free items you can unlock.

If you wish, you have the option to go back to Club Penguin. You can do this by going to your map and clicking 'Go There' in the upper right corner of you screen like so.
